Sustainability reporting can help organizations to measure, understand and communicate their economic, environmental, social and governance performance, and then set goals, and manage change more effectively. A sustainability report is the key platform for communicating sustainability performance and impacts – whether positive or negative.

Sustainability reporting continues to evolve. It is therefore important that companies understand the landscape of reporting guidelines, standards, regulations and other disclosure frameworks that may affect the form and content of their sustainability reporting. There are in a number of sets of international guidelines for disclosure. Amongst these are:

  • OECD guidelines for Multinational Enterprises
  • other guidelines
  • ISO 26000
  • The Integrated Reporting (<IR>) Framework

The above guidelines and standards mentioned will be walked through to the participants in detail. By the end of the in-house workshop part, the participating companies will have a clear picture on which data and Information the Company has to report on. They will further understand the relevance and application of the mentioned frameworks and standards.

Who Should Attend

Our training curricula/program is innovative and highly motivating for top management in organizations like CFO’s and investor relations, strategic teams etc., providing them with knowledge and information that is not yet been spread in a great extend in Cyprus. The program is for professionals who are starting their sustainability journey, and those who are keen on enhancing their respective competence and the performance of the organization. Company functions that are addressed by the program are: CFO’s, HR (human recourses) managers, Marketing Managers, Health and Safety Managers, Quality Control Managers, Sustainability managers, investor relation managers, compliance officers and of course dedicated sustainability or CSR managers. Candidates who are present are practically and truthfully interested in improving their knowledge in sustainability management or are required to acquire knowledge to fulfill regulatory requirements or reporting.



Objectives

After the public part of the programme participants will be able to:

  • Obtain an overview of the current trends and legislative requirements related to non-financial reporting and management.
  • Learn about the evolution of sustainability as a concept, as well as the sustainability reporting of good practice companies.
  • Understand the key standards, frameworks and guidelines related to sustainability reporting are explained.
  • Obtain the process of the materiality analysis (core to GRI G4), as well as the definition of key value drivers (key to Integrated reporting) and identification of material matters (GRI, IR, EU directive, ISO 26000) that builds the basis of the training.
  • Learn via practical examples and templates how to collect and structure data and information related to the material issues identified before.
  • Set objectives, plan and manage the sustainability reporting process within an organization.
  • Determine and improve the quality of the reporting and how assurance for the report and different assurance standards can be applied.
  • Communicate and transport the content for various media (i.e. web, print, social media etc.) and to engage the various stakeholders of the company internally and externally.

After the in- company part of the programme participants will be able to:

  • Apply the theoretical content from the training at the own organisation
  • Ask their questions raised since the training so to have their answers as well as some examples based on their company
  • Develop of a first materiality matrix with focus areas for strategy and reporting, as well as identify data and information needed to report these areas
  • Understand the process of implementing sustainability reporting
  • Develop a high level of implementation map together with the client (i.e activity, responsibility, resources, timing).


Methodology

Public part of the program

The following training methods are applied to deliver the theoretical training and in-house part. International experts with world class expe-rience in the field of sustainability management and reporting are de-livering the training. They are supported by a team of Cypriot experts which also ensure that potential language issues are addressed and the local context is provided. The experts will use all of the following meth-odologies:

In house training part of the program

In this section, there will be a complete analysis of the potential of each enterprise in the identification / development and materialize of the Non- financial information and reporting according to international standards. It will assess the infrastructure of the company, the existing expertise and internal communication and will mainly analyze the pro-cedures and practices of various departments within an organization. The required actions will be discussed, will be drawn up an action plan and potential targets and KPI’s.
