EnterSchoolMind project started at November 2018. It is a three year project, aiming to cultivate the entrepreneurial mind set in elementary schools through a systematic approach that provides interventions both to students & teachers while at the same time supported by parents.
Entrepreneurial mindset can be defined as the set of attitudes, skills and behaviors that tomorrows’ employees need to succeed personally and professionally. Some of entrepreneurial mindset elements are initiative and self-direction, risk-taking, flexibility and adaptability, creativity and innovation, critical thinking and problem solving, ability to see opportunities, marshal resources and create value.
The specific objectives of the project are:
- To identify the most important competences within the EM in the primary school setting (probably general entrepreneurial competence)
- To develop materials in order to develop the EM of teachers (1 set of materials for each competence)
- To develop an ISO certified qualification for the EM of teachers (1 for each competence)
- To motivate teachers to change their approach from a more traditional one towards a more experiential one so that entrepreneurship can be integrated in the curricula (change from an add-on nature) through the provision of specific activities
- To provide teachers with tools in order to cultivate the EM using approaches that are innovate & non traditional
The project works simultaneously on three different levels.
At the 1st LEVEL it aims to develop the Entrepreneurial Mind set teachers taking into consideration the key competences that have been identified by the consortium.
At a 2nd LEVEL the project develops tools for the teachers in order to cultivate the entrepreneurial mind sets of their pupils. These tools include:
- An online innovative assessment tool to be used before and after the implementation of cultivation activities
- A set of non traditional activities that will cultivate the entrepreneurial mind set of the pupils. Activities take into consideration the age of the pupils, have an experiential nature & some of them will be designed to be implemented as online activities.
At a 3rd LEVEL parents participate in this effort through extracurricular activities also developed by the project.
