Period:
September 2015

Being an effective learner requires a complex assortment of skills, including time management, the abilities to prioritize and multitask, strategies for studying and learning, the use of technology, social skills, maturity, and responsibility. Not all trainees possess these abilities, but a syllabus can assist in their development.

The CS.Tour trainees’ syllabus comprises the aggregate of all the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required for each key competence. It is used by trainees to aid reflective learning and to guide some aspects of assessment.

Especially for the Key Competences 6 and 8 a Trainees Syllabus will be developed by MMC to support learners own study. It will serve trainees as a model of professional thinking. The Trainees Syllabus will be used by the learners during the pilot trainings of people involved in the tourism and hospitality sector in Greece and Cyprus and will be taken into account for developing the accreditation scheme (O6).

A formative assessment procedure for the evaluation of the trainees syllabus on KCs 6 and 8  will take place during the pilot implementation. This means that it will involve qualitative feedback for both trainees and trainers that focus on the details of content and performance. The overall scope is to test the sufficiency and effectiveness of the selected methodology with regards to the specific characteristics and training needs of people involved in the tourism and hospitality sector.

After the pilot implementation and the recommendations that will arise in Greece and Cyprus, trainees’ syllabus on KCs 6 and 8 will be finalized as an intellectual output. The developed Trainees Syllabus will be disseminated to participants through a multimedia a training tool during the Final conference and it will be published on the developed e-platform.

The Trainees Syllabus will enable users a further study and to evaluate the degree of their current capacity as European citizens involved in the tourism and hospitality sector to develop appropriate interpersonal skills and also served as a basis for planning their personal and professional development in the context of Lifelong Learning. The trainees Syllabus on KCs 6 and 8 will support the participants to develop core skills including the ability to communicate constructively in different environments and to develop cultural knowledge on national and European cultural heritage, cultural skills related to both appreciation and expression and cultural attitude towards and respect for diversity of cultural expression.
