Structure for “The occupational standards for the wellness sector”

Project: Skills for Wellness

Skills for Wellness project aims at designing transnational sector-wide occupational standards for these professions and developing and assessing competences of employees. The project is finalising the occupational standards described learning outcomes with units covering professional and transversal skills in order to develop training resources. After a Skype meeting on 29/04/2020 the consortium decided to make some corrections on the work areas and units as there are presented below in order to finalize the structure of the  Qualification Framework.

1. WORK AREA 1: Facial, neck & décolleté treatments

1.1. Basic Dermatology [Care and Beauty Related Treatment]
1.2. Facial, Neck and Décolleté Treatment [Care Related Treatment]
1.3. Facial, Neck and Décolleté Massage [Care Related Treatment]
1.4. Make up activities [Beauty Related Treatment]
1.5. Eyebrows [Beauty Related Treatment]
1.6. Permanent make-up and temporary decorations [Beauty Related Treatment]

2. WORK AREA 2: Body treatments

2.1. Basic Dermatology [Care and Beauty Related Treatment]
2.2. Body massage [Care Related Treatment]
2.3. Body treatments: Hydrotherapy, anti-cellulite treatments, Aromatherapy, Light therapy, Sauna and Baths [Care Related Treatment]
2.4 Hair removing [Beauty Related Treatment]
2.5. Body painting [Beauty Related Treatment]
2.6. Suntan [Beauty Related Treatment]

3. WORK AREA 3: Hand & Feet Care and Beauty treatments

3.1. Basic dermatology / anatomy
3.2. Hand treatment including manicure, nail design & extensions
3.3. Feet treatment including pedicure & nail design
3.4. Massage (paraffin)  

4. WORK AREA 4: Physical, leisure, relaxation activities and nutrition

4.1. Fitness and body-building activities
4.2. Indoor and outdoor amusement and recreation activities
4.3. Relaxation activities (yoga, meditation etc.)
4.4. Healthy nutrition in the context of skin, movement and diseases-related

5. WORK AREA 5: Health and Safety

5.1. Basic knowledge of hygiene
5.2. Equipment in the wellness sector
5.3. Disinfection of equipment & furniture, sterilisation etc.
5.4. Body hygiene

6. WORK AREA 6: Transversal Skills

6.1. Communication
6.2. Customer service
6.3. Taking initiative
6.4. Problem solving
6.5. Time management
6.6. ICT skills
6.7. Foreign languages
6.8. Green skills
