YEAP: 3rd transnational YEAP project meeting! Youth Entrepreneurship Advanced Pathway 'in Uppsala, Sweden

Project: YEAP! - Youth Entrepreneurship Advanced Pathway

The Youth Entrepreneurship Advanced Pathway (YEAP!) project officially started on 1 June 2018 and will be completed on the 31st May 2020. It is a two-year program with main objective the integration of youth into the labor market as well as the enhancement of education and training so that young people can create their own business and develop their business skills.

The third transnational YEAP! Project’s meeting took place in Uppsala, Sweden, on 11 and 12 July 2019. This two-day meeting was hosted at the premises of FOLKUNIVERSITETET in Uppsala.

Representatives of all partners participated in the meeting. The activities of the first day were attended by representatives of the Swedish National Agency.

The meeting started with a presentation of project’s progress by the representative of FOLKUNIVERSITETET.

• FOLKUNIVERSITETET representative presented the "Youth Workers' Methodological Guide", which is the main deliverable of IO2. The aim of the guide is to develop a comprehensive methodological tool for youth workers to educate and guide young people towards entrepreneurship and self-employment through the flexible learning paths developed in the Intellectual Output 1.

• Afterwards, the representative of RINOVA presented the Toolkit, that includes all the learning tools developed within the project. The partners agreed that additional references should be made on a number of issues, such as sustainability, financial management, risk analysis, business plan, etc.

• MMC presented the Business Idea Assessment Guide. The guide has 4 levels of assessment, and evaluates future business ideas that will be developed through the project. Partners have suggested some improvements, such as transforming evaluation into easy-to-use spreadsheets etc. It was also agreed that each partner will create a 3-minute video showing, in national level the use of the guide and tools as well as the process of assessing entrepreneurial ideas.

• The representative of the educational organization Dimitra presented to the consortium the action plan for the creation of a database with tools for youth and social entrepreneurship (Youth & Social Entrepreneurship e-tools for Business Start-up Database). Analysis tools for business ideas where presented and partners contributed by providing feedback.

• On the closure of the first day, issues related to pilot actions at national level were discussed.

• At the beginning of the second day, the list of activities of the project was discussed and updated in light of the comments of the National Agency. It has been decided, among other things, to increase the dissemination activities of the project, to link the platform to the website of the project so as to ensure access to all materials, etc. The partners set deadlines for all upcoming actions.

• The strategy for the dissemination and exploitation of its results was then discussed and the partners agreed to add information about the project to their websites and produce more newsletters. Subsequently, financial and administrative issues were analyzed and issues regarding project quality assurance were discussed. The meeting ended with assessment by the partners.
