Joanne Freeman

JoAnne Freeman

JoAnne Freeman is the creator of SWIM, a Geneva based consulting practice that specializes in techniques to improve facilitation skills, team effectiveness and management competence. She has recently founded a management training centre in Geneva called ActPro, which delivers a wide range of workshops by top rated training experts. JoAnne is recognized for interactive and innovative approaches to professional development with a focus on practical skills for immediate application on the job.

JoAnnes education includes Masters Program of Social Psychology (University of Toronto) Program of Studies in International Cooperation (University of Ottawa), Continuing Education, Humber College (Toronto) and Bachelor of Arts (Carleton University, Ottawa). She has worked across the globe in management development for multinational corporations, with the UN, and for NGO’s in developing countries. She has lived in Niger and in Haiti where she worked on large and small scale expertise development projects. For nine years she was responsible for Management Education with Digital Equipment Corporation Europe where her contribution included new designs for leadership training and a process for self-managed teams. Moreover, she has worked as professor at Webster University and Humber college.

Her current activities span a wide range of client organizations both in the public, multinational and hi tech sectors. JoAnne is professor of Organization Behaviour and Leadership at Webster University Geneva and is on faculty with the Management Centre Europe, Brussels, where she gives workshops on Strengthening Women in Management and The Art of Facilitation.
